Cascade Supplier Partner: Product Highlight – WillowWood ALPHA Family of Liners
Every residual limb is unique, which is why finding the right prosthetic liner is an important part of achieving a comfortable, secure fit. The WillowWood ALPHA® Family of Liners is designed to meet a wide range of patient needs, offering four fabric options and six interface choices to meet a wide range of patient needs and accommodate different activity levels, limb shapes, and goals. In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at each liner option to help you determine which ALPHA® Liner may be the best fit for your patient.

The ALPHA® Hybrid Liner allows for easy bending and flexing of the knee and donning and doffing. A flexible panel incorporates an abrasion-resistant fabric allowing the limb to easily flex without pulling and tightening at the knee. ALPHA® Hybrid locking liners feature an accordion umbrella that blends with patient anatomy. The cushion liner is ideal for use with elevated vacuum suspension.
The ALPHA® Classic Liners are available in three gel thicknesses, various profiles, and three fabrics to fit the needs of each unique patient. These liners are composed of skin-friendly, Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). The gel flows to adapt to uneven socket pressures, while its low rebound means the liner maintains its adapted shape over time.

The ALPHA® Duo is designed for both transtibial and transfemoral users utilizing either suction suspension or elevated vacuum systems. It combines the comfort of WillowWood’s skin-friendly ALPHA® Classic Gel on the inside with a durable ALPHA® Silicone exterior that helps protect the liner from daily wear. Its symmetrical design also allows the liner to be rotated, helping promote more even wear and extend its overall lifespan.
The ALPHA® Silicone AK Liner with symmetrical profile provides extra protection to the distal femur and allows the liner to be rotated for extended wear. The liner uses a proprietary, platinum-cured, medical grade silicone designed for both comfort and performance for transfemoral amputees. ALPHA® Silicone AK locking liner controls pistoning without a distal matrix, while the accordion umbrella blends with patient’s anatomy. The cushion liner is ideal for use with elevated vacuum suspension.

The ALPHA® SmartTemp Gel Liner is constructed with WillowWood’s proprietary blend of Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) gel and heat absorption technology. This technology allows the liner to absorb and storeheat from a residual limb and delay the onset of sweat. The liner releases the stored heat as the body cools down, stabilizing the skin temperature to keep an amputee comfortable all day. The ALPHA® SmartTemp Silicone Liner featuring Outlast® combines silicone with the heat management technology of Outlast®. The ALPHA® SmartTemp Silicone Liner uses one-way stretch Select fabric that controls pistoning without using a distal matrix. The Select fabric allows for circumferential stretch making it easy to don.
WillowWood’s ALPHA® TruSeal Liner uses a proprietary, platinumcured, medical grade silicone designed for comfort and performance. The liner has four integrated sealing fins designed to ensure confident suction suspension. With TruSeal’s stepped fins and Volume Management Pads, a large range of fluctuation can be accommodated. The satin outer finish allows for easy donning, does not require messy lubricants and is easier to clean than a fabric covered liner. An inner topcoat is applied to reduce tack while controlling soft tissue compression and rotation.

ALPHA® Liners from WillowWood are the industry standard for comfort, durability, and innovation for 30 years. Whether it’s the ALPHA® Hybrid for superior comfort, the ALPHA® SmartTemp TPE and Silicone for temperature regulation, or the ALPHA® TruSeal for secure, confident sealing—every liner is designed with one goal in mind: to enhance mobility and quality of life.
