Who Is Cascade?
Cascade Orthopedic Supply, Inc. is known industry wide as the largest, independently owned distributor. Cascade supplies a broad range of products from over 300 suppliers to providers of orthotic and prosthetic care throughout North America. Cascade has been an industry partner for over 40 years and continues to grow and adapt as the market changes. Cascade’s reputation is built on a continued commitment to excellence, investments in technology, and operational efficiency.
Cascade Orthopedic Supply, Inc. was originally founded by a bilateral, upper extremity amputee named Jerry Leavy (pictured above). In the 1950’s, Jerry filmed a video “A Day in the Life of an Amputee” in order to spread awareness about his challenges living as an amputee. His passion for a higher quality of life inspired Jerry to found Cascade, making O&P products more accessible to the industry. Jerry was an avid pilot and still resides in a small neighboring town called Chester, CA.
Below is a brief timeline of events that have shaped Cascade.
Cascade is committed to providing our customers with the service and support they need to improve the quality of life for those affected by limb loss. Cascade supports initiatives across many amputee advocacy groups like the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA), the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF), the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), and the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Cascade’s President, Jeff Collins, currently holds leadership roles within the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and the California Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (COPA), demonstrating our legislative commitment to the industry. Cascade works hard to secure the future of the O&P industry so patients can continue to have access to quality patient care.
Locally, Cascade is known for actively staying involved in the community, whether it be by providing input on the city’s general plan or fueling economic development activities in the area. Local initiatives have been focused on bringing PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) funding to the North State, actively serving on the Chico Chamber Board, advocating for community neighborhood groups, and supporting the development of the Comanche Creek Greenway.
Here at Cascade, we are committed to providing quality customer service, opportunities for our staff to grow and develop, and legislative advocacy for the O&P industry. Let us help you build a better practice.
